Pottery Wheel Trail

On a bike route leading through hilly landscapes, there is a place shrouded in mystery and legend – the former fortress in Chodakówka. It is here, on the top of a hill now called "Zamczysko" (Castle Hill), that the remains of a medieval settlement are found, which according to legend guarded the surrounding lands against Tatar invasions. Although only earthworks and traces of former fortifications remain of the stronghold, the place still stimulates the imagination. Legend speaks of gold hidden in a well and of the castellan's daughters who chose death over Tatar captivity. Other stories mention a secret passage leading all the way to Kańczuga and a betrayal that led to the downfall of the settlement. Today, the castle hill is a unique viewpoint and an atmospheric stop on a bike trip. The silence, the vast panoramas of the Dynów Foothills, and the aura of ancient stories make it an ideal place to rest and reflect on the extraordinary history of the region. For cyclists, it is not only the goal of the journey but a true climax of the route – a place where history meets adventure.
