‘Sandomierz: the City of Mysteries and History’

- City of 7 hills – Sandomierz is often referred to as ‘little Rome’ because, like the Eternal City, it was built on seven hills.
- The Capital of Criminal Mysteries – the city is a tourist hit due to the TV series produced here and local inhabitants often play episodic roles there!
- Vistula – the river of gold – In the past, river gold was mined in the Sandomierz area. To this day, you can still find specks of this precious ore here!

- Castle in Baranów Sandomierski (approx. 30 km). Called the ‘little Wawel’, this Renaissance castle impresses you with its remarkable architecture and beautiful park.
- The Pepper Mountains Landscape Park in the Pieprzowe Mountains (approx. 5 km) – Picturesque hills with a unique flora and fantastic views of the Vistula River. These are the oldest mountains in Poland!
- Krzyżtopór in Ujazd (approx. 40 km) – Ruins of a remarkable castle from the 17th century which once had more windows than there are days in a year and was famous for its wealth.
- Sandomierz vineyards (several locations) – The area around Sandomierz is a sheer paradise for wine lovers – don’t forget to visit one of the local vineyards and taste the local alcohols!
- Sulphur mine in Tarnobrzeg (approx. 35 km) – Nowadays, it is closed, but its grounds have been turned into the Tarnobrzeskie Lake – a fantastic relaxation spot and an oasis of water sports.
