The Ulma Family Museum in Markowa is not just a museum – it is a journey into the past, where time stood still for a moment and heroism changed the course of history. In this extraordinary place, the fate of a family meets, who instead of focusing on their own safety, decided to face hatred and wartime violence, risking everything to save another person.
What can you expect?

- A unique exhibition – The museum offers not only displays related to the family's history but also a rich collection of objects, photos, and documents that help better understand the life of the Ulmas and the tragic war events.
- Education and reflection – It is the perfect place for those who want to explore topics related to World War II, humanitarianism, and heroic attitudes in difficult times.
- Tickets can be purchased directly at the museum ticket office on the day of the visit. The ticket office is open during museum hours.
- Payment for tickets can be made by card or cash at the ticket office.
- Every Tuesday, the museum offers free admission.
- The museum offers guided tours in Polish and English
- For organized groups, booking the guiding service is required at least one week in advance
- The museum in Markowa is the first facility in Poland dedicated exclusively to Poles who rescued Jews during World War II.
- The history of the Ulm family became one of the key arguments in the beatification process of the family. In 2023, Józef and Wiktoria Ulm and their children were beatified, which was the first such case in the history of the Catholic Church (beatification of the entire family, including the unborn child).
- The museum is adapted for visits by people using wheelchairs.
- The route from the hotel to the open-air museum in Markowa is truly picturesque – it leads through beautiful, green areas of Podkarpacie. This is an excellent opportunity to fully experience the region’s atmosphere. If possible, it is worth going there by bike.
