The shelter in Strzyżów – a thrilling story

Ticket info:
- Tickets available on site for PLN 5.
- Summer season (July – August): from Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 am – 6:00 pm (entrance at every full hour, the last one at 5:00 pm).
- Low season: Sightseeing possible if agreed with the Local Government Museum of Strzyżów Land by phone in advance: +48 889 839 031.
Important notice:
- This is the only underground railway tunnel in Poland.
- During Hitler’s meeting with Mussolini in Stępno, the Strzyżów tunnel housed the train of the Third Reich’s leader, i.e. the famous Amerika.
- The railway shelter is hidden inside the Żarnowska Góra.
- Due to the low temperature and high humidity in the tunnel, warm clothing is recommended for the sightseeing.
